What happened at the cross of Christ?

People of God many people died on a cross, "but what happened at the cross of Christ?" Today we will go over why Jesus’ crucifixion was so unique.

At the cross of Christ, the Lord Jesus bore all our iniquities there at the cross. At the cross Jesus was receiving the full wrath of God for your wickedness and my wickedness. He was our substitute on the cross. At the Cross of Christ, a holy substitution took place. Read (Isaiah 53).

At the cross of Christ, He was our mediator pleading for us before God the Father on our behalf there at the cross (Luke 23:34) (1 Timothy 2:4-6).

At the cross of Christ, He forgave sins. Read (Luke 23:34) (Matthew 9:6) (Acts 10:43) (Acts 13:38-39) (Matthew 1:21) (Matthew 9:2, 6) (Luke 24:45-47) (Luke 7:48-49) (Acts 26:18) (Ephesians 1:7) (Colossians 1:14) (1 John 2:12).

At the cross of Christ, Jesus showed love even for his enemies by praying for them. By doing this Jesus fulfilled his own word in (Matthew 5:43-44) (Luke 6:27).

At the cross of Christ, He was rejected, deserted, and despised by his own creation. Read (Isaiah 53:3) (Mark 8:31) (Mark 9:12) (Luke 17:25) (Acts 4:10-12) (1 Peter 2:4, 7) (Mark 14:50).

At the cross of Christ, ultimately all the power of the enemy was disarmed, disabled and destroyed by Jesus. Read (Colossians 2:14-15).

At the cross of Christ, Jesus’ deity (meaning him being God) was displayed by him forgiving sins and granting eternal life to the thief on the cross. Two things only God can do. Only God can forgive sins and grant eternal life to an individual. Read (Luke 5:21) (Matthew 9:1-6) (Luke 23:42-43) (John 3:16-18) (John 14:6) (Acts 4:12).

At the cross of Christ, God’s perfect love for us humans was displayed unto the whole world through his Son. Read (Romans 5:8) (John 3:16) (John 15:13).

At the cross of Christ, God’s justice was displayed. God punished the sins of mankind there at the cross. He placed all our sins on Christ and punished him to spare and save us from our own sin's penalty. Justice was served unto God through Jesus Christ. You say how? The bible declares” For the wages of sin is death” well Jesus took your punishment for you and He died for you. Therefore, now you can go free because your sin debt and your eternal penalty for your sins has been paid in full by the death of Jesus our Savior. Hallelujah to the mighty, victorious, triumphant, sinless spotless Lamb of God Jesus Christ! Read (Romans 6:23) (Isaiah 53) (John 1:29-36).

At the cross of Christ, God's mercy was displayed through His Son. Even at the cross Jesus is extending mercy to a dying sinner who does not deserve his mercy and grace. In the same way people of God, we do not deserve God’s mercy and grace that is shown to us through Christ Jesus. Why is this you may ask? This is because “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).” We do not deserve God forgiving us of all our sins through Christ. However God wants us to be saved, however God wants us to be forgiven, however God wants our sins to be blotted out of his book forever in so that we can be in right standing with himself blameless without a single fault, and all because of what Jesus His Son has done for us there at the cross. We do not deserve to be saved; however, God loves you more than you can ever fathom and beyond your human comprehension. We do not deserve God’s mercy; however, God desires all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4-6) (2 Peter 3:9). That truth is clear in the Holy Scriptures and it is this” Jesus is the Only Begotten Son of God the one and only savior of the world and He is the Sinners Savior. Anyone who will put their faith in him believing He died on the cross to save them for their sins and believing he arose again bodily from the dead will be saved by God and granted eternal life. Yes, these people will receive something they truly don’t deserve from God which is his abundant mercy forgiveness and grace. Read (Luke 23:39-43).

At the cross of Christ, Suffering was displayed. Jesus literally and physically suffered real agonizing pain for your sin's penalty and mine. Death on a cross was utter torture for anyone beyond human words. However, Jesus was not suffering on the cross for his own crimes and sins as If he did something wrong, No, He Jesus suffered, bled, and died on the cross to save us from our sins. Read (Isaiah 53). What a Savior? What a deliverer? What a redeemer? How can anyone knowing these facts of God about Jesus not worship him, serve him, and glorify him? Yes, at the cross of Christ, surrendering totally unto God was displayed. Jesus obeyed His Father by surrendering his life to die for us on the cross. Just as Jesus surrendered unto His Father, If we are mature in our faith, we will surrender our lives to Jesus. Read (Luke 22:42-43) (Isaiah 53) (Philippians 2:6-11).

At the cross of Christ, God’s faithfulness to his word was displayed. What do you mean one may ask? Jesus prophesied His own death and resurrection. Jesus prophesied that He would die and be raised again three days later. And He did just that! The bible is indeed true, and it is indeed true because it is God's word (John 2:19-21) (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) (Luke 24:45-47) (2 Timothy 3:15-17) (2 Peter 1:20-21).

At the cross of Christ, He gave eternal life, and is right now continuing to give eternal life to all those who will believe in him. Read (Luke 23:42-43) (John 3:16-18) (John 14:6) (Acts 4:12) (1 John 5:11-13).
